This week’s BOLD LAW…” Don’t listen to your monkey mind ! “
Our ” Monkey mind ” is that little voice, or sometimes that BIG voice inside our head that tells us that we can’t do something , or it’s too much work , pain , or stress to go through. It tells us that we’re good enough, that’s the way it is, that’s the way it has always been, and that’s the way it will always be , so why struggle trying to change ?
It’s the voice of doubt and disbelief and worry about what others will think. It does not want us to be embarrassed by trying something different and new and possibly failing and it does not want us not to look good. It says , ” Why do you want to do that ? What will your family and friends say ? You’re comfortable where you are now , why in the world do you want to do that now ? And, at your age ? ..or, at this point in your career ?
Listening to and , worse, believing all that garbage is the equivalent of letting a wild monkey run loose in your kitchen and you leave the house for a few hours ? Can you imagine what your house would look like ? In that few hours, there would be a huge mess ! Personal belongings destroyed, curtains torn, furniture ruined, monkey poop and pee everywhere…You would never allow that to happen inside your home , right ?
So, why do we let wild thoughts run and play inside our heads all day every day ? Your ” Monkey mind ” can and will turn your brain into a mess too ! Don’t listen to it ! When you have that first negative thought , stop it in it’s tracks and think of a more positive thought. No one can control the first thought but , we can certainly control the second one ! Find something to be grateful about. Stop the monkey mind right away. The sooner you can get him out of your kitchen, the better your day will be !
