Friday BOLD LAW ” What you focus on expands “…from KW MAPS NLP Coach George Gillas
What you focus on expands
There is an expression that says, “Energy flows where attention goes.” Now here’s the caveat – even if that focus is unconscious.
In other words, what you focus on unconsciously will also expand; and it will often expand to a much greater degree than that which you focus on consciously.
How do you control what you focus on at the unconscious level? Glad you asked… Your feelings – emotions are the indicator of what’s happening in your mind below the surface. Have you ever felt one way and acted another? Your feelings are the true indication of what’s happening at the unconscious level.
Emotions we feel are the result of chemicals that have been produced in our brain and pumped through our body. We have thoughts (short, electrical impulses), images (neurological connections held in sequence over time for a picture to form), and emotions which are the result of pictures being held over time at the unconscious level.
When you feel and emotion – you know your unconscious is producing the chemicals to give you the feeling.
One of the strongest, healthiest, and most positive feelings we can have is that of gratitude. As an emotion gratitude is warm, welcoming, open, receptive, calming. It is a great starting point for the day and a great way to end the day too. Take a moment, close your eyes and think about one thing for which you are grateful. Allow yourself to get a picture – drop into the scene and feel the feelings of gratitude. When you have the feeling, you know that you have involved your unconscious mind – and your brain!
Focus on that feeling because — what you focus on expands. So… consciously start the process by choosing something to feel grateful about. Consciously close your eyes and “kickstart” the image. Then let your imagination take you deeper into the scene and your unconscious mind will create the feeling. Now, you are focused on gratitude at both the conscious and unconscious level, aren’t you?
Use your whole mind to focus on those things you want to expand in your life.
